What do we know about them?
What are we without them?
What do we know about them?
Here I stand thinking about how we meet some persons,
How some parts of us are made up of the experiences they give us.
Is it okay to still feel complete without them?
How is that this fragile heart moves ahead and this strong head keeps memories warm and fresh?
These persons, do they think about us?
Or is it just our urge to be with them?
Or maybe some people are like a lasting scent,
Our lives are redolent with their fragrance.
At some point of time,
We may have needed them,
But as life moves ahead,
Their presence dissolves in thin air,
You feel complete without them,
And suddenly it concedes that we did not know them, even when we knew them.
Even though it feels they penetrated deep into our lives,
But came out with nothing worthwhile to behold for the rest of their lives,
Maybe it was meant to be like that,
To know and not know them at the same time,
To try to be familiar but come out strangers,
To not miss them and still harbor them,
Sounds unusual and funny how easy it is to just forget such people,
Still we talk and write poems about them.
So beautifully written. And the last line, is one of the finest poem ending I've ever come across. It totally blew me away
